HCI Timeline
Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011: Missouri United Methodist Church begins its effort to renew the church and agree upon a vision. Using the Healthy Church Initiative (HCI) process was voted on and approved by the SPRC.
Kickoff Meeting: Three teams were established to prepare us for the consultation.
- A prayer team lead by Rev. Molly Moore has been praying for the process and God's work within the process.
- A vision team which is composed of the committees voted on at 2010 charge conference and selected individuals within the congregation. This team was under the leadership of Rev. Gearhart.
- A self-study team collected data about Missouri UMC and the local community. This team was under the leadership of Rev. Vessell and Bob Elliott. Click here to access data.
September 23-25, 2011: Onsite Consultation, Training and Prescriptions. Interviews were conducted with staff and key leaders, focus groups were interviewed, 150 attended a training and sharing session, Bob Farr preached all three services and Prescriptions were read after the last service.
October 2-16, 2011: Four Open Forum meetings were conducted to discuss the HCI report and prescriptions.
Sunday, October 23, 2011: Charge Conference voted to work on all five HCI prescriptions.
