Adult Music
Music is one of the most common forms of worship named in the Bible. At MUMC, we have a wide variety of options for adults who like to sing or play an instrument. Our goal is to praise the Lord and inspire our congregation with an exciting and challenging repertoire of music.
Chancel Choir
Directed by Alex Innecco, the Chancel Choir is an adult, mixed ensemble that provides primarily traditional choral literature for the 11:00 a.m. worship service. This group rehearses weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in room CLC101. Twice annually this choir presents a major work by a prominent classical composer. This semester we will present a condensed version of J.S.Bach's St. John's Passion for Palm Sunday, with full orchestra. Call Alex Innecco at 443-3111 for details, or just come to a rehearsal any time!
Agape Singers
This adult ensemble, directed by Alex Innecco, provides music for the 8:50 a.m. worship service. Rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:15 to 7:15. There is no entrance requirement to become a member - only a desire to meet great people and make music together while participating in worship. Repertoire includes gospel, contemporary and folk, usually accompanied by keyboards and drums. Call Alex Innecco at 443-3111 for details, or just come to a rehearsal any time!
Wesleyan Ringers
This is an adult handbell group that rehearses in Room 412 on Mondays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wesleyan Ringers perform in worship at least once each month. No experience is required. Call Alex Innecco at 443-3111 for details, or just come to a rehearsal any time!
If you sing or play an instrument and would like to perform in church
There are many ways in which an amateur or professional musician can contribute in church. Special music solos, accompanying musicians, playing the piano for services, helping out with youth and children's programs, singing/playing for outreach programs (such as nursing homes and jails) If you are interested in contributing in anyway whatsoever to MUMC's musical environment, please call Alex Innecco at 443-3111.
