Baptism
Baptism is a symbol of Jesus' death and resurrection, and our entrance into His kingdom. We offer baptisms for any age. New members are received into the church on any Sunday.
Confirmation
Confirmation is held each spring for youth 7th grade and older. It is a a declaration of commitment to God and an important time for study, learning, growth and fellowship. More information is available in Youth Sunday School.
Weddings
A wedding in a Christian sanctuary is a service of worship to God, celebrating not only the holy vows the couple takes but also God’s gift of and intention for marriage within the context of the Christian faith.
Weddings are performed by clergy staff after counseling with the parties involved. MUMC employs a Wedding Coordinator who is present at the rehearsal and wedding as an official representative of the church. Weddings are booked through the church office on a first-come, first-served basis.
Non-member weddings are welcomed, with the associate pastor officiating at the majority of these events. Wedding contribution suggestions are listed in each wedding instructions packet.
Funerals
Funerals may be arranged at the church by calling either Senior Pastor Jim Bryan or Associate Pastor Keith Vessell. The Care Connection arranges for a meal to be served in the church parlors at the family’s request.
Saying farewell to our loved ones is not easy, but our grief can be eased somewhat with the help of MUMC’s Caring Ministry. The Caring Ministry includes our pastors, Parish Visitor Ministry, Stephen Ministry, and Care Connection.
