Discovery Days Preschool
Monday, Wednesday, Friday during the School Year
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - First Floor
This Christian-based, tuition program, which began in 1978, is offered during the public school year. Children 12 months through pre-kindergarten are welcome. As they participate in age-appropriate activities, children are guided through the developmental tasks that prepare them for their formal schooling. Daily prayer, Christian songs and chapel are a part of this program. State guidelines are carefully followed, including two teachers per class. Call Director Courtney Gaunt, (573) 875-4886, for more information. A scholarship fund has been established for tuition assistance that may be given in honor or memory of a loved one.
Fifty-Five Plus
This fun, active group for those 55 and more meets monthly for lunch and a special program, or travels out-of-town for special events. Reservations are required, and deadlines are publicized with the events. Lunch is usually $5.50. Watch for articles in the Messenger for specific details.
First Monday Book Club
Readers, want-to-be readers, or maybe-I-should-be readers, if you have an interest in an evening book club, and think you might enjoy the company of a really exciting bunch of women, then join us. We are fresh, enthusiastic, and feel the desire to read a book, and then gather to share our take on the book. Our reading material is selected by our members. We meet on the first Monday night of each month at 7:00 p.m. in member’s homes.
Marriage Encounter
A "Marriage Encounter" is a weekend away from home, family and responsibilities where, in a comfortable, secluded environment, a couple is guided in the discovery of new techniques of communicating and sharing with one another. The next Marriage Encounter will be April 11-13, 2008 at Staybridge Suites, 805 Keene St, Columbia, MO 65201. Memorial Weekend at Camp Jo-Ota
An annual retreat is held Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend at Camp Jo-Ota, 75 miles northeast of Columbia. Fun pursuits include swimming, fishing, canoeing, and horseback riding. Join us for outdoor praise, fun and fellowship.
Men's Basketball
Join this group Thursdays from 5:30-8:00pm in the CLC Multipurpose Room. All equipment is furnished. You will enjoy the exercise and the fellowship!
Mothers of Preschoolers
Mothers Of Preschoolers is designed for mothers with children under school age, infant - kindergarten. The program promotes spiritual growth, friendship, and creativity. It meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays during the school year, from 9-11:30 a.m. Please Contact Wendy Bolick at 268-5481 for more information.
M.U.M.Y. – Sunday Nights
M.U.M.Y. (Missouri United Methodist Youth) meets every Sunday from 6-8pm. It is a time when all youth can come together to worship, learn, grow in their faith and build Christian Friendships. Parents of Youth Connection Group
This is an exciting opportunity for parents of youth, 6th through 12th grades, to come together once a month for fellowship, friendship, and connecting as parents of teens. It will be interesting and fun to share views and ideas. We’ll meet on the fourth Sunday of each month. Come for an informational meeting and bring YOU, your ideas, and a smile. Recreational Sports
Throughout the year, MUMC supports participation in coed leagues sponsored by the City of Columbia. This year "The Flames" had a team playing summer softball and has a team participating in the fall softball series. The games are played at Cosmo Park in the Rainbow Fields complex. Soul Cafe
Soul Cafe is held every Sunday from 8:30-11:00am in Whittler Hall. A variety of breads, sweet treats, fruits, juices, coffee, hot tea, and milk is served. Come and informally mingle with your church family on Sunday mornings. This is a unique time of Christian fellowship for you, your family, and friends.
Vacation Bible School
Each year in July, Vacation Bible School is held from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Monday through Friday. In 2008, VBS will take place July 21-25. Mark your family calendar and plan to join us for an exciting week of Christian fun and fellowship!
Wednesday Night Live!
Wednesday Night Live is a weekly program that enhances and expands opportunities at MUMC for Christian fellowship, study, food, and music. WNL is held from late August through May.

We celebrate birthdays on the first Wednesday of each month. On the last Wednesday of the month, dinner is potluck with participants bringing a vegetable, salad, or dessert to share. The entree is paid by a $2 donation by those attending. - Infants/Pre-schoolers - 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Wednesday Night Workout
This great workout class is available to men and women at all levels of fitness. Join the fun and fellowship and get your body back into shape. Dr. Erika Ringdahl is the fitness expert, with a little help from her friends! There are no routines to learn. Meets Wednesdays in Whittler Hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Yoga
The practice of yoga gives us time for self-reflection while “uniting” the body, mind and spirit. Christy Hall leads this class each Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm in Room 304.
