Youth
There are so many opportunities for our youth to become active in the life of the church. All it takes is a start. Attend a few times and you will find that the youth are accepting, welcoming and know how to have fun as they deepen their understanding of the role God plays in their personal faith journey.

M.U.M.Y. – Sunday Nights
M.U.M.Y. (Missouri United Methodist Youth) meets every Sunday from 6-8pm. It is a time when all youth can come together to worship, eat together, learn, grow in their faith and build Christian Friendships. Each week we explore a different topic and spend time in the Bible. Dinner is provided by parents of the youth. For more information about Youth Group contact Sarah Kurre at (573) 443-3111.

Wednesday Night Live for Youth
Each Wednesday Night youth join the congregation for Dinner in the CLC Multipurpose Room at 5:30. After dinner Jr. and Sr. High youth break into groups for separate activies. For more information about Youth Group contact Sarah Kurre at 443-3111.

Acolytes
The Acolyte Ministry is an important part of MUMC’s youth ministries program. Dave Jones, Minister of Parish Visits, oversees the fifty youth who actively participate. Acolytes serve as worship leaders at the weekly 8:50 and 11:00am services, as well as during special services throughout the year. Acolytes provide significant assistance on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Easter Eve, Easter, and Youth Sunday. Any youth interested in serving as an Acolyte should contact Dave Jones at 443-3111.
Confirmation
On Confirmation Sunday in May, youth make a commitment to Christ and to the church before the MUMC congregation. Over four months, confirmands learn what it means to be a Christian in today’s world and how to use the Bible as a guide for daily living. Confirmation classes are held during the Sunday school hour from February through May. Confirmands also participate in other youth activities, including service projects, church services, and a confirmation retreat. Confirmation is offered to youth in the 7th grade and older. Confirmation Class meets Sundays at 10:00am in CLC 104.
Other Events
Each year we have many events above and beyond regularly scheduled programming.
- Lock-Ins: An overnight event full of games, worship and movies.
- Mission–a–Month: There are service projects once a month at local sites on Saturday mornings.
- Mission Trips: Every summer the senior high and Junior high youth go on a mission trip. Over the past five years the destinations have been Minnesota, Arkansas, Tennessee, San Antonio, TX, St. Louis, Kansas City, Mobile, AL, San Jose, Costa Rica, and Chicago.
- Youth Week: The week before school starts is Youth Week at MUMC. There are activities everyday to get everyone fired up for the school year. The activities include service projects, theme parks, and fellowship times.
