Heifer Project International is an ongoing mission of Missouri United Methodist Church. This is an organization that supplies food-producing animals to impoverished farm families in many parts of the world. These families can have a better quality of life for their children. Two programs through which MUMC supports Heifer Project are "Fill the Ark" and Festival of Sharing. In even numbered years MUMC children and youth work to "Fill the Ark" with animals ($5,000) to be delivered to another country. Gifts to this project are an alternative gift for family and friends.

Mozambique Covenant Church (573) 443-3111
MUMC and the Malhangalene Methodist Church in Maputo, Mozambique, have a covenant relationship. MUMC provides annual financial support to Malhangalene to support its work.
Rainbow Network (417) 889-8088
Rainbow Network is a nondenominational Christian ministry to families and children as a conscious and visible witness to the love of Jesus Christ with particular emphasis on partnering with some of the world’s poorest people in rural Nicaragua. It is nearly the only provider of health care, education, economic development and housing assistance.

SERRV internationalwas started in 1949 to help refugees in Europe economically andsocially from WWII. The name SERRV is an acronym for Sales Exchange for Refugee Rehabilitation and Vocation. SERRV International was one of the first alternative trade organizations in the world and was founding member of the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT). SERRV is a traveling global market that, as a member of the Fair Trade Federation, is committed to providing fair wages and employment opportunities to low-income artisans worldwide. By purchasing SERRV crafts, we help provide vital income for as many as 40,000 economically disadvantaged artisans and their families. SERRV sales are held in Whittler Hall as scheduled. Volunteers In Mission (VIM) (573) 443-3111
In recent years MUMC has been active in the Volunteers In Mission program. A mission site to work on a church-related project is researched and chosen; then volunteers, who usually pay their own expenses (tax deductible), are recruited from the MUMC congregation and other local United Methodist churches.
During the past several years MUMC has sent VIM teams to Puerto Rico (1992); Jalapa, Nicaragua (1993); Pittoreal, Mexico (1996 & 1997), Henderson Settlement, Kentucky (twice in 1998); Gomez-Palacia, Mexico (2002 & 2004) and Heifer Project International, Perryville, Arkansas (2002). Individual members served on teams to Bolivia (medical, 1997); Henderson Settlement, Frakes, Kentucky (1999 & 2006); Heifer Project International, Perryville, Arkansas (1999, 2002, & 2004); Camp Jo-Ota (1999 & 2002); Mozambique (1999); Mexico (1999); Honduras (1999 & 2004); UMCOR Depot in Ballwin, LA (2000 & 2004); Costa Rica (2001-2005 ); Nicaragua (2001); Peru (2001); Jamaica (2004);gUATEMALA (2005);Midwest Distribution Center, Chatham, IL (2005-2006); India (2006)and tornado cleanup in Southwest Missouri (2003); church addition in Brunswick, Missouri (2004)and hurricane cleanup in Aurora, Louisana (2006).
