Our Stories
Fellow church members, we all go to church for a particular reason. Most of us probably don't spend a lot of time thinking about what church really means. I didn't really think about it until I my daughter was born. For the last three years, I've always considered MUMC my church home. It's another place where my family can feel at home and safe. But after my daughter was born missing a portion of her left arm, I began to realize our church community was even more important. I knew MUMC would be another place where my daughter would always be welcomed with open arms and love. When she was baptized in Shelter Gardens last summer, Jim openly welcomed church members to get to know my daughter and not be afraid ask questions. His words were to simply accept and love her. His welcome was at my request, but hearing his words opened my heart even more to our church. I have committed myself to giving to MUMC with my heart through my energy and gifts.
